What are the chances that I will be able to find a tenant Covid-19?

Do you have an empty property with no tenant? Are you just going to have to wait for the restrictions to be lifted before you can find a new one?

What are the chances that I will be able to find a tenant Covid-19?

Many landlords are worried at the moment about their tenants being unable to make their rent payments. The Government are doing all that they can to help people through this time and to ensure that rent payments are still made. But what if you have an empty property with no tenant? Are you just going to have to wait for the restrictions to be lifted before you can find a new tenant?

The simple answer is no. These are very strange times that we find ourselves in and life has changed for everyone and the way that we work has had to change.

So how can you find a tenant during these restricted times?

  • Firstly, you need a valuation appointment - these can now be done via FaceTime with our valuer.

  • Then, send us some photographs of the property (or if your property is vacant we should be able to get access to it for our photographer) and complete our forms to give us enough information to get you on the market.

  • Next, create a video walk through (just using your phone) of your property and send it over to us.

  • Once the property is live, we will conduct telephone interviews with prospective tenants and send them the video of your property.

  • If they decide that they want to apply, all paperwork, references and contracts can be handled online and all payments via bank transfer.

  • Once the property is ready for move in, all signatures are done remotely, money is transferred and the keys are collected by the tenant from our lockbox at the office.

We have only been working in lockdown for a week so far, and we have already agreed a number of new tenancy applications and had several check ins. People are still needing to move into properties and the government has recognised this, allowing lettings to continue.

If you have an empty property that you need to rent out, don’t despair, you are not simply going to have to wait 12 weeks, or however long this things will last!

Give us a call for more information or to book in your FaceTime valuation slot!
