Special day out ideas for Father’s Day

Spend quality time with your dad this year instead of just buying him a card...

16th June means Father's Day - a time to celebrate all the father figures with a day out they're sure to love. From the adventurous trips to brain teasing quizzes, it’s sure to make even the most stoic dads crack a smile. Here are some great Father's Day ideas…

  1. Brewery tour
What dad doesn’t love beer! On a brewery tour, you can find out how they make it, and then drink a sample (or three) after. Some breweries even offer “brew at home” kits, or a discounted barrel at the gift shop to nab the perfect gift on the day!
  1. Mini golf
More than just a simple putt these days, mini golf can be more fun than you realise. Whacky, creative holes will have the whole family laughing as they compete for the number one spot! Some mini golf venues serve drinks and food while you play to complete the experience, so grab a club and spend the day there!
  1. Pub quiz
The most “dad- like” activity you can do, let him settle down in his favourite local pub and try his hand at the pub quiz. Mixing competitiveness with a drink or two, it couldn’t be more perfect. There’s usually pub quizzes happening locally, so you shouldn’t have to look far!
  1. Countryside stroll
Dad the explorer comes out when heading off on a countryside adventure! Trek the hills and mountains – see if dad can navigate your way. With great weather in June, it’s bound to be a lovely day for a hike. The perfect gift to accompany this would be a compass, so hopefully you won’t get lost! After a long day of walking, hit a countryside pub for a well deserved pint and meal.
  1. Go kart racing
The ultimate in competitive manliness – see who can go the fastest without crashing at the local go-kart racing track! Not only can dad pretend he’s at the formula one, but the adrenaline is sure to have him talking about it all year – maybe you could even let him win for once ;)
  1. The zoo
Zoos bring together all the family, and is all-age friendly. Get some great pictures with some incredible animals, and learn as you go! Ice creams and picnics are a great way to take a break, and if you’re feeling adventurous, why not pay a little extra to feed an animal? Most zoos offer to let you feed penguins, elephants, and giraffes!

Whatever you decide to do this Father’s Day, dad’s bound to feel special!
